Plain Dealer News Guild

There are now only four remaining members of the Plain Dealer unit of The Northeast Ohio Newspaper Guild working at The Plain Dealer.

The company on April 10 laid off 10 Guild journalists, one week after laying of 18 Guild reporters and four nonunion managers.

A year ago, The Plain Dealer outsourced the jobs of 22 Guild employees who copy edited, curated, designed and illustrated our newspaper and laid off another 14 reporters, editors and photographers.

Please consider supporting our efforts. We plan to use any funds raised to help our members who face layoffs and to support local journalism.

For those who would prefer to send donations by mail, donations can be sent to: Northeast Ohio Newspaper Guild, Local 1, 1400 E. Schaaf Road, Brooklyn Heights, OH 44131. Checks should be made out to Northeast Ohio Newspaper Guild, Local 1.

To the many of you who have reached out, we appreciate your support. You’ve stood with us through layoffs, delivery challenges and a loss of daily home delivery. You have made it all worth it. Save local news.
