In April of 2023, our family received some devastating news that would turn our world upside down.

Hi, my name is Jessica Kumfer. I'm raising money for my brother in-law, Joey Lovell. Joey is 46 years old and resides in Denham Springs, Louisiana with his wife, Stacey and their five children.

Joey has worked in the plants all of his adult life. He is a funny, caring, loving man that will give the shirt off of his back at a seconds notice. He never asks for anything inreturn.

In April 2023, Joey was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer. The lesions were removed. At a follow up, a CT scan was done to make sure the cancer had not metastasized. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread and continues to spread throughout his body. With lesion on his brain, lungs, liver and intestines life has became incredibly difficult.

Joey is strong and determined to beat this cancer and we pray he is able to continue the fight.

He is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Due to the treatments, he is unable to work and is unsure when he will be able to return.

Our family has set up a GoFund Me to help with the financial burden of extensive medical bills, supplemental income, the cost of treatment, and to support the kids through this incredible fight their father is facing. While any little bit will help, if you are unable to help financially, we ask that you please pray for Joey, Stacey, their children, and his family as they adjust to this new normal.

They moved Joey to the cardiac floor early this morning bc his heart rate was irradic. Also stopped the iv chemo and putting him on two chemo pills to attack the liver cancer faster.

We are all devastated by the loss of Joey on April 4th and were not prepared for the high cost of the medical bills and on going expenses. We want to give his family a little peace during this difficult time as the family says their last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the those expenses for the family.
