Prayers for Polly

On Friday February 25th, our vivacious, full of spunk sister and friend Polly Walker was diagnosed with cancer. The tumor was so large it consumed most of her pelvis. The oncologist acted quickly and did surgery two days later on a Sunday, where they removed her ovaries, uterus, appendix, and part of her colon. It was diagnosed as ovarian cancer that had metastasized. Overall, the surgery was successful, but the surgeon could not remove all the cancer cells, with some remaining on her colon and diaphragm. She has begun chemo treatment and will follow that with radiation in the upcoming months.

Polly is not only recovering from major surgery, but she’s also dealing with all the emotions that come from a sudden and significant diagnosis. She is unable to work during this treatment and her recovery. There have been so many added expenses during this time, as you can imagine, and there is a very high insurance deductible to meet.
