Annie's Road to Recovery

As some of you may already know, our sister, Annie has currently been hospitalized due to a stroke. This occurred just 48hrs after her birthday. She was extremely lucky to have been home with her husband and they quickly realized the symptoms she was experiencing.

She had loss in sensation, muscle use and, slurred speech. They immediately called for an ambulance.

She is currently still in the hospital and has about 90% of her speech back, slightly improved each day. Her right leg still drags when she tries to walk with a slight foot drop, and her right arm is flaccid. She's unable to move her arm or fingers, but has full sensation. We did have a slight improvement yesterday as she was able to shrug her shoulder a little.

Our goal is to get her into inpatient rehab for now, hoping to step in directions to try to get her life back. She is eager to improve and wants to be home with her kids and back to work as a phlebotomist. Unfortunately, we don't know how long this is going to take her.

To those that are close to Annie or have ever cross paths with her, are well aware of what a kindhearted person she is. She will always try to be there and go out her way for her loved ones, family, and friends.

I know how it feels first hand about being in that similar situation. It’s quite a life changing event that puts you in a pause and has a setback that can affect in many ways.

A few years ago, I had an aneurysm which set my life back and I had to start over. Physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. I understand the struggles my sister is going through. So in efforts to try to help her get back on her feet, literally and financially; we'd like the same support that were given to me from fellow friends, neighbors, and families.
