My son David has stage 5 PKD - Polycystic Kidney Disease. He has been on dialysis 3 times a week for the past 7 years and just received notice from UCLA that a live kidney donor is available and his surgery date will be scheduled in February 2019. Your donation will help with David’s recovery to cover food and housing near UCLA Hospital/Nephrology after the kidney transplant. He will need to attend post-transplant appointments 2-3 times per week, up to 3 weeks. The follow-up appointments are required to make sure his body is not rejecting the donated kidney and confirm there are no complications from surgery.
