Help

I am in a place and I really do not know what to do. I am asking for help if you want to help, and advice if you want to give it.

My husband was a dad at 17( I was 19) we were teen parents and he quit high school to be a dad and to work and support our family while I went to college.

We had two children, supported them and now they are both uni graduates after 30 incredible years of marriage.

As a family we struggled just making do financially as I only have an ECE degree and he didn’t even have his highschool. But we were

Filled with love and happiness.

As the kids left home he decided to finally take care of himself. And started his GED then entered university 5.5 years ago as a mature student( 48 now).

He Graduated with his Bachelor of Arts, with a major In psychology and a minor in Political science. ( Mount St Vincent University in November 2025)

Through his education, which has always been a struggle for someone with learning disabilities he has persevered, surviving a heart attack, a heart surgery, and a serious life altering stomach surgery.

We have lived off my ECE salary and his student loans which are very little. But we have made do, supporting each other, life isn’t fancy, but it’s happy because we have each other. ( he is my Beshert)

He is now enrolled at Yorkville, working towards his Master of Counselling. He had a second heart attack about a month ago, thankfully a much less serious one, and still stayed on top of his schooling in hospital( thank goodness it is an on line course.). I think he is amazing, and brave.

This year is the first year where the student loans and schooling have been slightly conflicting schedules and lower amounts due to the courses high costs( private university)but still we have made it through.

However today we recieved an email stating they want $2,500.00 paid by Monday for this new term. As his next student loan does not come in until February, and they are not willing to wait, they gave no notice and sadly neither of us have parents who can help, and our kids are not yet in a well enough life place to have extra funds. And as an ECE I do not make enough to have this available without lots of notice and scrimping, which I honestly don’t mind

He is now at risk of losing his next term. And he has worked so dang hard through so much, and it hasn’t been easy for me either.

I do not know what to do, nor does he. He applies in the summer for every grant and bursary we could find, but he was not the chosen
