Pastor Grants Recovery
Donation protected
On Sunday, December 1st, 2024, while leading service at Cedardale Church of the Nazarene in Pefferlaw, our beloved husband, father, and pastor, Grant Verdoold, suffered a stroke.
Thanks to the swift actions of the Cedardale Church community and emergency responders, he received life-saving care and was transported to Lakeridge Health in Oshawa, where he remains under close monitoring.
Grant’s condition is stable, and we are deeply grateful for the signs of healing he has shown. However, his recovery is progressing slowly and will require patience, prayers, and continued care. Each day brings small steps forward, and we remain optimistic as he works toward regaining his strength over the next several months.
For many years, Grant and his family have dedicated themselves to serving the town of Georgina. Even before entering ministry, Grant was committed to helping others—organizing local charities, supporting youth through the Salvation Army, and offering care to those in need. His generosity and faith have touched countless lives.
We sincerely appreciate the love, prayers, and support from family, friends, neighbors, fellow pastors, his congregation, and the community. To those who have asked how they can help, we have created this GoFundMe page to provide a way to support Grant and our family. Contributions will go toward managing medical expenses, transportation costs, and other unexpected needs, allowing us to focus on his recovery. We are sincerely grateful for your generosity.
We also kindly ask for your understanding regarding hospital visits. While we appreciate the desire to see Grant in person, his recovery requires a calm and restful environment. Instead, we encourage you to continue lifting him in prayer and sending messages or cards of encouragement. These thoughtful gestures mean so much to him and our family.
Thank you for your support and for taking the time to read Pastor Grant’s story. We are incredibly grateful for any help you can provide as we rally around him and Karen during this time.
“Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
Save me, and I shall be saved,
For You are my praise.”
