Help Birgit Raise Funds for Unexpected Medical Costs
We are hoping you will generously support our efforts in helping raise money to support a very expensive trip Birgit had to make quite unexpectedly to the Emergency Room last week. Birgit did not have health insurance and is now left with an extremely costly medical bill (over $25k). As an avid and faithful Kimberton CSA Support and family friend I am writing on her behalf to ask for your kind and generous support.

Thank goodness she is ok, and is now home and gracefully healing up after a scary adventure with a small bowel obstruction. After moving sandbags in the garden last Thursday she started to feel abdominal pain, which became so overwhelming she had to check into the hospital at 10pm that night. After the routine I.V procedure and CT scan the staff diagnosed a small bowel obstruction. She was hooked up to an NG tube, was kept under strict watch and given 6 mg of morphine to ease her intense pain (and we all know Birgit is a power woman so when she is in pain that has to be some powerful force). After rounds of antibiotics, pain meds, and meds to help clear the obstruction, she was able to narrowly escape surgery and was blessed to have the obstruction clear over the course of her 4 day hospital visit. She is now on bed-rest and it is possible she still may need surgery but we will keep our fingers crossed that things will clear on their own.
