Help Greg & Celeste Rebuild After Hurricanes

I'm Steve Shannon and I live in Michigan. Greg & Celeste Moore are great friends of mine who live in Clearwater Beach, Florida. As with so many in their community, the recent “one-two punch” of hurricanes Helene and Milton left Greg & Celeste without a home and destroyed almost all of their belongings. The Moores have now begun the long and difficult process of rebuilding their home and lives. The emotional toll of this loss is immense, but I’m hoping that together we can help them overcome the financial hurdles.

I met Greg, a U.S. Marine veteran, through the Alliance of Hope for Suicide Loss Survivors after we both endured losing a son to suicide. We became close friends in a support group for grieving fathers, and Greg actively supports me and other dads as a program co-facilitator and monthly group leader. Together, we have helped many other fathers recover and heal from the same loss. Even during the night of Hurricane Helene, Greg led our support group because he didn’t want to let the group down.

Celeste is a beautiful person who also joined the Alliance of Hope to help with critical fundraising work. Celeste has owned a pet-sitting business on Clearwater Beach for the past 18 years, and her connections to their community run deep. Three years ago, Celeste became very sick with esophageal cancer, which required months of chemo and radiation treatment, a year of immunotherapy and numerous procedures. It was a tough battle to save her life, but this strong woman is currently in remission and continues to recover.

Losing their home and almost everything in it is Greg & Celeste’s latest challenge. I created this GoFundMe to help them recover and to give to them the same support they have freely given to others.
