On November 5th about 4 pm I and my Business Partner (who happens to  be my mother, Loretta) were showing a fix-er-up-er flip type home. Most of the exterior was almost acceptable, with the exception of a door into the kitchen which had no window in. I was standing on the back porch, roughly 4 feet up, looking into the kitchen. Suddenly, the world up-ended and I felt a thud. The railing had given way and I fell backwards off of the porch. I had completely knocked the wind out of myself. We decided, as I am no longer the Cross-fit athlete of my youth (little joke), to call an ambulance. After taking what I felt to be a little long to arrive, they did a quick assessment. As I still could not breathe, the Hospital was the next choice.
We got into the ER, and relatively quickly down for a CT. After another CT and an MRI, it was determined that I had broken 7 ribs, and 2 vertebrae. I was given a bed and had a surgery scheduled to repair the vertebrae.
We went into surgery on Friday November 9th, and soon I woke up in the recovery room. The Surgeon was not happy with his inability to see my injuries and decided the initial surgery should be called off until he could get a better view of the affected area.
After multiple tests I returned to surgery on the 13th. During this procedure, my oxygen levels dropped dangerously low, and surgery was canceled. At this time I was placed on a ventilator and heavily sedated for 11 days. During this time, the lower lobe of my right lung collapsed and I contracted pneumonia.

My Doctors have decided at this time surgery is not the best option. I have been fitted with a temporary back brace, which I need to wear whenever out of bed, in hopes of the vertebrae mending.

Physically, things have gone well since then. I 'think' I am Pneumonia free, I can take deep breaths without pain, and I am walking around (with nurse and walker assistance). The next step is to get to a Rehab center so I can get home, and back to work.

Some blocks are showing up there as well, but with the help of my family, both here, and across eXp Realty, and God's strength, I'll be back to being one of the best 50 Managing Brokers in EXP! :)
I do want to thank you all in advance for your well-wishes and prayers. Please, if you can assist financially, I would be so very appreciative!!!

Thank You
Scott Bartlett,
Managing Broker, Michigan, eXp Realty LLC.
