We need help before we lose our home.
Almost a year ago, my son and I came to California for a fresh start and a chance at a better life. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to get stable — I’m in school, actively searching for work, and doing my best to build a future for us.
Right now, we are in a rapid rehousing program that has helped keep a roof over our heads, but that support is coming to an end soon. Once it ends, we will be responsible for the full rent — over $2,100 a month — and I simply don’t have the income to cover that yet.
This means we are now facing the very real possibility of losing our home again.
I hate asking for help. It’s not easy for me, and in the past I’ve even taken my fundraiser down once I got just enough to get by. But this time, the situation is bigger than what I can handle alone. I’m trying to stay strong for my son and keep us from going back into homelessness.
We are asking for support to help us secure a new, more affordable place to live and cover moving costs so we can stay safe and stable during this transition.
Every donation, share, and kind word truly means more than I can express. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us keep a roof over our heads.
