Hi, my name is Isabel and I'll be hiking Maccu Picchu in May 2026 in aid of the DPJ Foundation. Me and 15 others including Emma the founder will be taking on this challenge together and what a challenge it will be!

This charity was set up by my sister in law almost 10 years ago to help people, particularly in the farming community open up and talk about their struggles “sharing the load” with a counsellor helping them work through their difficulties and understand how to improve their quality of life, preventing self harm and suicide, through talking. Mental health is just as important as your physical health they both deserve your care and attention. This charity has helped thousands of farmers from all over wales and is going from strength to strength reaching people far and wide. This is suicide prevention, this is life support.

When I was 18 I went through something extremely traumatic which left me with PTSD. It consumed quite a lot of my adult life mentally and had a massive negative impact on my life but thankfully I started counselling about five years ago and really allowed myself the time and space to heal, helping me change in such a positive way. So I for one know how important it can be to have counselling, be vulnerable, open up and face your fears. It could save yours and has already saved so many lives, I know it’s saved mine.
