In memory of PJ

My Story

As part of the Altra Kielder Marathon Weekender, I am running the Half Marathon on the 6th October, 2025. The 13.1 mile route around the scenic trails of Kielder Water features a combination of forested paths and lakeside trails, with 276m of elevation.

I am raising money for an incredible charity (4Louis) which means a great deal to both me and my family. In January 2025 PJ Tansey was born with his angel wings. It's incredible difficult to mourn anyone, but to mourn a family member who didn't get the chance at life feels incredibly unfair. This is the case for my family and so many others.

4Louis provided excellent support for PJ's parents and allowed them to have some special memories and grieve. They were provided with an Abi Cot on Sunderland Maternity Ward which allowed them to spend quality time together before he was laid to rest. However, this unfortunately isn't the case for all families due to a lack of resources.

PJs parents are currently raising money to be able to open a second bereavement suite at Sunderland Royal hospital with the support of 4Louis and staff at Sunderland Maternity unit. They currently have raised around £16000 which is a huge amount to go towards to their goal to open a second suite.
