Pitching in to Help My MN Farmer

Many members and patrons of the Mankato Farmers' Market consider the Braatz family (the owners of My MN Farmer) to not only be a provider of fresh MN Grown produce and a variety of meats, but also friends. Just as their fiasco involving escaped cattle appeared to be finally resolved (roughly two months of stress and worry), their pack shed, their entire base of produce operations, caught fire and appears to be a total loss. In addition to the building itself, this is where much of their produce prepping equipment, walk-in cooler, meat freezers and other farm essentials were housed. This was the hub for all things produce. With the current costs of building materials, early estimates to replace this structure come in at roughly $300,000, with insurance looking only to cover about $75,000. As you can clearly see, there is an exhausting gap between those figures. Please consider helping out this area farming family, and show them what our farmer-friend community can really do!
