Pitch in for Rich: Help Our MVP Beat a Financial Curveball

Dear friends, community, and compassionate strangers, meet Rich Haskell. The name may ring a bell for many, but I would like to further introduce him for those who may not be familiar with his work and contributions.

Rich has a legendary voice within Vermont and New Hampshire from his decades with various radio stations. He has worked as a DJ and a News Director, but is best known for his sports announcing. He spent nearly 30 years at Centennial Field as the voice of the Vermont Lake Monsters and still calls play-by-play for Middlebury High School football and Middlebury College Hockey. In 2024, he was inducted into the Vermont Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame!

His love for sports extends far beyond his professional career—he's completed numerous marathons and races, many of which were organized to raise money for the American Cancer Society and leukemia research. Rich is also a dedicated member of Orangetheory Fitness in Burlington, VT, where I have personally had the privilege of getting to know him. Over the last few months, I have watched Rich work incredibly hard to maintain his physical health, all while courageously battling cancer. His strength and determination have been nothing short of inspiring.

I am happy to share that Rich has recently won his tough fight against cancer, a testament to his strength and perseverance. However, the financial strain of medical bills has been overwhelming.
