Pitch improvement fund

Whitehaven Miners Social Football Club was established in 1965 and are a FA Charter Standard Club currently running youth teams from under 6’s through to under 18’s who all play in the West Cumberland Youth League. We also run an open age team playing in the Cumberland County League.
We offer opportunities for both boys and girls to learn life skills through the medium of Football.  We teach them a number of different skills that can be used their entire life such as, teamwork, time management, respect, social responsibility, and we try to develop a work ethic all within a safe and fun environment.
Over previous seasons, our playing time has been cut short due to the flooding over recent years meaning that playing games and training sometimes isn't feasible.
Our aim is to address this problem using a competent contractor to install new drainage on the field a cost of £100k. we as a club have enquired about grants with relevant local and national bodies. The  only issue is that to apply for the grant we need to be actively fundraising and must raise 25% of the total requested amount therefore we need to hit the 25k mark.
We have made strides recently and through various charity nights have raised £2500 but we're still along way from our goal.  We feel that this page would be an ideal platform for those involved in the club to raise what they can via various charitable events and help us hit the remaining £22500 needed.

All monies raised on this page will be going solely into the Whitehaven Miners Social Pitch maintenance fund
