A story about black metal, bastards and belligerence

Set over the course of one night, 'Piss & Vinegar' is a moment to moment demonstration of going out swinging.

I have always been interested in the intersection between music and film, and how the two can interact with each other to produce something different. This was at the foundation of this project: how to produce a story that could have the same gut-punch reaction of a punk record or misanthropic overtones of a metal album. This is what 'Piss & Vinegar' is being built off.

The North East is a place with a specific regional identity, and this is true also within the local music scene. It is by pulling these two things together that 'Piss & Vinegar' was written.

With a complete, feature-length script now at the ready, I am looking to move forward and put the project into production. This will be a micro-budget production, utilising non-actors and on-site locations to create something that not only feels raw and real but works efficiently within a minuscule budget.

Working with a pair of Canon XL1 camcorders over the coming months, I will be using local collaborators and friends to create this project. All post-production will also be handled completely by myself, and then upon completion of the film, it will be entered into festivals and shown at community screenings.

At the heart of this project, it is about showcasing a very specific identity and voice that simply could not be achieved anywhere else. Having written a paper on micro-budget filmmaking, I am equipped with the knowledge of how to create something that not only sticks within a tight budget, but uses this to it's creative advantage.

The intention behind this crowdfunder is to secure a small budget to make sure that the project can be executed to its absolute potential.
