Pirela Party of Five

Hi, my name is Debra and I am fundraising for Nanci and Eddie Pirela. Asking for help is never easy. In January of this year, Nanci and Eddie found out they are expecting in September! Luckily for Nanci and Eddie, they both have well-paying jobs and are excited to be a family of FIVE! Nanci, Eddie, Roman, Elijah and all of our family are so excited to meet Silas.

As each pregnancy is different, Nanci was surprised that she was battling to keep her energy and mental clarity with this pregnancy. After telling her doctor of her problems, he recommended she go on complete bed rest on June 2, 2023. Then Nanci was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia shortly after and advised by her medical team to continue her bed rest to allow Silas more time to develop.

Nanci’s job allows her to pay premiums for short-term disability. She also started the process of filing for her short-term disability. Their finances were stressed but they were doing okay making their rent, electrical bills, car notes, daycare and groceries. Then in mid-July, Eddie was laid off due to a slowdown in business from his job.

August 1, 2023, Nanci’s disability insurer declined her claim due to their determination that her symptoms and health problems do not render her Totally Disabled. Eddie has been looking for a new job but has not been able to do so yet.
