Piratemania 17. Sailing West
Donation protected
On Saturday 17th May, myself and Matthew Gibbs & Warren from the Leeds Drink n Chat crew, along with support from Clare n Jeff, Fiona & Xander will be taking on the Infinity Bridge at Honister Slate Mine and we would be really grateful if you would support us by raising funds for PM17.
The Infinity Bridge is the longest high wire bridge in Europe, suspended 1000ft above sea level with a length of 190m.
Matts face went a pale colour when he realised what was involved and I can be a bit iffy with heights, but usually as long as I’m on a good solid structure and can’t see what’s below me, I’m fine….what could go wrong ?
We are a group of Geocaching friends who attend the monthly Leeds Drink and Chat events in various pubs and bars in Leeds City Centre.
The not so small costs of putting on Piratemania each year are, like other Megas, met in the main by charging for things like camping, entertainment, sales of merchandise etc, but are still reliant on donations and fundraising to help meet the costs, particularly in these uncertain times of rising costs across the board, but particularly with high fuel prices and changes in legislation which now prevent the use of Red Diesel in the electricity generators. Adding on new legislation which will require more paperwork and monitoring of certain things which will increase the not so obvious costs of hosting a Mega event.
This is why we wanted to try and do our bit to support Piratemania 17 and I would be so grateful if you could support us and donate something through this Go Fund Me page.
Thankyou for reading our story.
