Pirate Bart
Donation protected
~ Bart loves Halloween. This year he wants to be a pirate. For the last six months Bart has been going to an ophthalmologist to help save his right eye from an abnormality that was detected when his eye started changing color slowly. After months of medications and check ups unfortunately the latest diagnosis was found to be a progressed iridal growth and secondary glaucoma. His vision has been compromised and is a danger for the neoplasia to spread to the rest of his body. The risk is not worth it so the only way to save Bart is to get an enucleation surgery and remove the eye. The estimate for the overall cost of the operation is upwards of $2,000. Bart needs your help, in whatever capacity you can.
Like everything Bart does, he is deeply passionate and committed to his goals. So, after sacrificing our living room chair for a peg leg and the striped shower curtain for a blouse he now needs an eye patch to complete the look. Again, he’s committed, so behind the patch... the eye has to go.
Our Los Angeles household will be throwing a fundraiser later in the month (date to be decided) but for those of you close to Bart, but unable to come in person can help him from a distance. As a pirate he's traveling abroad often so he gets it.
We are eternally grateful for everyone who is able to donate, any amount is appreciated. Please spread the word about Bart. Thank you for taking the time for him; it means the world to us.
