The only thing worse than losing a pet unexpectedly is losing a pet unexpectedly with a huge financial burden.
Pippin was diagnosed with Lymphoma on New Year’s Day. If you have experienced a loss from lymphoma, you know how quick and devastating it is; in less than 10 days, Pippin was gone. To make matters worse, between emergency diagnostics, keeping him comfortable in his final days, and letting him go, his care cost over $4000. Like so many of us, Pippin’s mama was unprepared for such a huge, unexpected financial burden, but did everything she could for her boy; now, she’s left with both a huge bill and a hole in her heart.
Pippin was a special boy, and so very loved. His mama’s first pet as an adult, he was there to celebrate the good times and provide comfort during the bad. While there’s never a good time to lose a best friend, the middle of a global pandemic may be one of the worst. While no amount of money will ever make up for such a devastating loss, erasing as much of the bill as possible provides some relief. If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider pitching in.
