Hi, I'm Andrew and my dog Pippin went missing in Great Yarmouth on 18th September. The search for Pippin by a dedicated group of volunteers became a local and to some extent national story on her Facebook page Pippin come home.
The volunteers who searched hasn't find her (yet). A thermal drone flew several times but the wonderful pilot had to keep driving from Newmarket. This meant the drone could not fly every day.
Local drones helped but these were only able to fly in the daytime, Pippin we think was coming out at night.
I would like to buy a drone with a thermal camera to operate 24 hours and be used in the area Pippin went missing so something good can come from her awful disappeance. These drones cost upwards of £4000. Ideally two drones would be nice to expand search and rescue capacity. Additionally, it would be nice to have thermal binoculars for use on the ground, tracking cameras to place strategically and some traps to catch the missing animals when located.
The drone will not belong to any charity but will remain independent. It will be flown by Great Yarmouth local drone pilot, Oliv3r Drone who is experienced in drone flying and has excellent local knowledge. If we can get two drones, we have another local who flies but will need training to secure his licence. We will remain independent but will work for anyone who asks for help in their searches.
If everyone in Caister and Great Yarmouth could give just £1, we could get all this and more to search for missing pets and people.
Currently, Pippin come home has 1000 members, just £5 each member could purchase a thermal drone
Please help in any way you can and help lost pets be reunited with their distraught families in Norfolk.
Thank you
Andrew Moore
