Please Help My Beautiful Dog, Pippah
Back in April , my sweet girl Pippah had a grass seed get stuck in her ear. While the vet tried to remove it, it was accidentally pushed in deeper and perforated her ear drum cause 3 small holes.
Since then, she has been in severe pain, suffering from constant infections and discharge. Pippah has been in and out of the vet since then.
It has been heartbreaking to watch her go through this.
I’ve already spent over $6,000 on vet bills, but now things have become even more serious.
Pippah has lost hearing in one ear, and a cyst the size of a grape was discovered and removed.
The next stage of treatment and surgery is expected to cost another $7,000.
Pippah underwent surgery where the vets discovered that her eardrum had failed to heal. Her middle ear was filled with a condition called cholesteatoma — a benign keratin cyst that causes inflammation, secondary infections, and destroys surrounding tissue. The growth was removed but unfortunately, cholesteatomas almost always grow back.
In Pippah’s case, the rupture of her eardrum allowed abnormal cells to enter her middle ear, where they have continued producing keratin and forming this cyst.
The prognosis for her right ear is poor. Without an eardrum, that ear is permanently non-functional and deaf. The only option left to relieve her pain and stop repeated infections is a salvage surgery called total ear canal ablation.
This will require a specialist surgeon, and it carries risks and high costs, but it is the best chance for Pippah to live comfortably and without constant suffering.
Pippah doesn’t deserve this pain, and I’m doing everything I can to help her. But I can’t do it alone. She is family to me, and seeing her suffer is devastating.
Please, if you are able, help me give Pippah the chance she deserves to be happy and healthy again. Every little bit counts, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
