Help Piper with her vet bills
Donation protected
Hi my name is Piper and I haven’t been feeling well. I’ve been the best girl for my people since I was adopted from the Eau Claire County Humane Association in 2010 and my people think I’m about 14 years old now. But up until a few days ago I was feeling fine, maybe a bit stiff, but who isn’t in their older years? But then I started not wanting my food, which is very unlike me. My parents talked to my vet and they said maybe she’s just being picky, older ladies can get stubborn. But then when I didn’t want chicken and rice my parents knew something was really up. When I did eat a little chicken and rice but threw most of it up my parents knew I needed to see my doctor sooner than January when my vet had an appointment for. So my parents called around to the Emergency vets, but unfortunately this all hit at the same time as something my parents have to pay called rent. I like having my nice cozy place to live so I’d like my parents to be able to pay that bill as well as get me the care I need. So from here I’m going to let my mom explain what is needed as I don’t really understand money. All I really want and need is belly rubs, walks, kisses, and mom and dad to share the bed and couch with me. Oh and walks with my best friend Dave. All the human things like rent and money seem silly when snuggling all day is an option.
Maggie here. I know this is a hard time of year to ask for help. And we wouldn’t if this wasn’t a dire need. In fact this is our first Gofundme. We aren’t sure what is going on with Piper. After talking to her vet, they think it could be kidney or liver issues and were going to do a liver and kidney enzyme test in January. She is eating a little but then throwing up what she eats. Otherwise she is fully herself. I walked her today and she was prancing and sniffing and LOVING life. She is sleeping more and is more lethargic and has a complete lack of interest in food, which for a very food motivated dog is unlike her.
We are going to call around Monday to see if we can get her into any vet earlier than her regular vet. Even looking at ones hours away. But even if we are facing losing her, at 14 that’s a real possibility we are having to come to terms with, we just don’t have the extra funds right now for tests, fees, possible euthanasia, etc.
Any amount anyone can give we GREATLY appreciate. We just want to prepare for Monday and whatever may happen with her and any vet bills that may happen.
Anything above and beyond we will donate to the Eau Claire County Humane Association in her honor as they are currently raising funds for their expansion and lost one of their donors.
