Piper Powell Fund

Katrina and Ben were married almost exactly a year before their baby girl, Piper Powell, was born. Ben has two older children. Lily who is 11 and Cooper who is 8. They are both excited to meet their new sister. Piper arrived in this world on August 29th, 2018. Weighing in at a a beautiful 10 lbs 1 oz and 22 inches long. She had a big mass of beautiful dark hair. 

After a few moments with her mother, the nurses noticed she was having a difficult time breathing. They moved her to the nursery to monitor her. About an hour later, they realized she needed more help than the wonderful staff at Midcoast could offer her, and they transferred her to Maine Medical Center. That is where they discovered that she was suffering from pulmonary arterial hypertension. The family then had to be transferred to Boston to undergo a bypass surgery to try to assist Piper. Unfortunately,  Ben and Katrina haven't been able to spend many moments with their daughter, save a small snuggle right after birth, and a few kisses in between transport.

The parents are currently staying in Boston and their two older children are home with family and friends. They have a long road ahead of them. Any donations would be a huge help to them as they navigate the medical bills, traveling costs, and their day to day bills through this process, any little bit counts.
