This fundraiser is for two men our pipeline community knows well — Ken “K2” Hutsul and his father, Ken Hutsul Sr.
Two solid hands, two hard workers, two men many of us have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with on the ROW. And now both of them are fighting cancer — one after the other.
K2’s Diagnosis:
Back in May 2025, K2 was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. After major surgery, doctors discovered the cancer had already spread to his liver and lymph nodes, leaving him palliative at only 36 years old. He’s now fighting through chemo and multiple treatments just to keep pushing forward.
Ken Sr.’s Diagnosis:
Before the family could recover from K2’s news, Ken Sr. was diagnosed with aggressive stage-4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He begins chemotherapy and supportive treatments to help him stay strong through the fight.
Anyone who’s worked with K2 knows the kind of hand he is — shows up early, never complains, carries more weight than he should, and helps everyone from welders to operators to labourers. He’s had our backs more times than anyone ever sees.
And if you’ve met his dad, you know exactly where that comes from. Respected. Old-school. Straightforward. The kind of man you’re proud to say you worked with.
But now, the Hutsul family is facing something no family should ever face twice — a father and son fighting cancer at the same time. It shakes a family to its core.
Anyone who’s been out here knows cancer doesn’t just hit the body — it hits every part of life:
The travel.
The time off.
The fuel.
The medications.
The stress.
The financial pressure.
Trying to stay strong for the people you love.
For one person, it’s overwhelming.
For two… there are no words.
This is where we — the people who’ve shared the long days, the cold mornings, the muddy boots, the shutdown chaos, the lunch-room laughs and the miles with them — step up.
K2 has always helped anyone without ever asking for anything in return.
Now it’s our turn to have his back — and his father’s.
This fundraiser will help the Hutsul family with whatever this fight demands:
• Travel to treatments
• Time away from work
• Medication and treatment costs
• Recovery needs
• Family support
• Day-to-day expenses during the toughest battle of their lives
If you’ve ever worked with K2 or Ken Sr., you know why this matters.
Let’s show them the strength of the pipeline brotherhood — the same strength they’ve shown every day on the job.
Every donation helps. Every share helps. Every message reminds them they’re not alone.
Pipeline strong. Pipeline united. We stand with the Hutsuls.
