Pip needs operations after being stolen and abused

Donation protected
Many of you may know that back in June, the worst happened to Claire and Steve King. Their beloved Pip was stolen from them, and they were heartbroken. She is now back home! But with a multitude of injuries, tumours and now the vets think she may now be deaf too.

She has been subjected to some horrendous treatment whilst in the hands of these vile people, and we want to help raise some money to pay for the 3 operations, medication and aftercare she now needs. Please help raise some money to give this beautiful family dog her life back after the worst 6 months of her life!

Here's the story in Claire's own words:

Pip was my first baby we bought her as a pup nearly 11 years ago. She was my first working dog and was trained to pick up birds. That’s all gone now. She won’t even sit. Pip has been part of the family for 10 years. She was born on 3 March 2010. She will be 11 this year. Pip was stolen from her kennel in June 2020. We tried everything to get her back. She left a big hole in our lives. We never thought we would see her again and then a vet near Halifax phoned us on the 21st January to say they had scanned a dog and it had come up as stolen and was called pip. When I got the call I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t believe it. It was pip. I waited for what seemed like a lifetime for the vet to phone us back to say that the person who had brought her in had brought her back. And we set off for Halifax. I phoned the vet all the way there to see if she had come back. When we eventually got there we were presented with a very quiet and timid dog. This couldn’t be our pip. The outgoing hunting dog who wasn’t gun shy and chased the other dogs round keeping them in her place. But she looked at us and I knew it was her. The vet that we picked her up from had had to nearly completely shave her as her hair was so matted and she was covered in her own excrement. She also had a very bad ear Infection and we think she might be deaf now. Pip was also covered in lumps over her body which the vet said needed looking at as soon as possible. A lot of her teeth are missing. Her eyes were sunk back in her head. We took her to our own vet that said she was very poorly and she had started to shut down due to the stress she had been through. She had been kept in a cage barely big enough and fed enough just to keep her alive. She had lost so much weight. She needs an operation to remove one of the most aggressive lumps and we don’t know if it is cancer or not yet. She has other lumps that need removing too but she is not fit enough to have them done in one go. Nearly a week later and another vets appointment she has lost a little weight but is brighter and on her way to having her first operation. She still has an ear infection and has been on antibiotics since we picked her up to give her every chance of surviving the operation without infection. It’s going to be a long journey for Pip to recover. She was insured but unfortunately with her being missing for seven months after being stolen it was cancelled by the insurance company.
