Hurricane Harvey and the flooding and the associated flooding have resulted in a devastating impact on Wharton County and surrounding areas. Wharton County Junior College is striving to recover and return to serving our communities as we have for so many years. However, many college employees have been effected and the college is raising money to assist college employees who's homes have been lost or damaged during recent events. #PioneersCARE is a campaign created to raise money in order to help these Pioneers recover.

Money raised through #PioneersCARE will be divided equally among WCJC employees who have suffered the loss of or severe damage to their home in the Hurricane Harvey disaster. Let’s join together to show them they are no alone in their struggle and they are a valued part of a team and an institution with a spirit of perseverance.

More About Us:

Wharton County Junior College is a 2-year community college located in Wharton, Texas, with campus locations in Wharton, Richmond, Sugar Land, and Bay City, Texas. Hurricane Harvey hit the college’s entire service area hard. The WCJC Office of Marketing and Communications has set up this fundraising campaign at the direction of President Betty McCrohan in order to assist employees who have been flooded out of their homes. The college is currently working to identify employees who are displaced due to this disaster. Funds raised through this campaign will be dispensed equally to the identified employees who may spend the money on repair or recovery expenses according to their individual needs and the circumstances of their situation. 

The funds will be withdrawn by the organization and the Wharton County Junior College Business Office will be responsible for distribuing the funds to identified recipients.
