Pins & Needles Comedy started because I wanted a comedy show that felt like a real subculture—not just a room with a mic. Tattoo shops have always had this specific kind of community energy: bold, funny, a little chaotic, and surprisingly supportive. Comedy has that too, but it doesn’t always get packaged in a way that feels visually alive or culturally specific. I built Pins & Needles to fuse those worlds into one night where the vibe is as strong as the jokes. The premise is simple: tattooed comedians do stand-up while actually showing their tattoos—no hiding behind stage clothes, no “cool-guy” posturing, just a loud, honest, high-energy room that celebrates body art and body confidence. We add a live tattoo artist doing flash tattoos and raffles because it turns the show into an experience. People don’t just watch; they participate, they remember it, and they come back.
We’re raising money to bring the show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Funds cover show fees, travel, lodging, and marketing so we can perform a real run and build the next stage of the project: touring, festivals, and bigger venue partnerships. Edinburgh Fringe would mean we’re taking something genuinely original and grassroots and putting it in the biggest live-comedy marketplace on earth. For my team, it’s not just a trip—it’s a level-up. Fringe is where a show can get discovered by new audiences, press, bookers, and festivals all at once. It’s proof that what we built in Brooklyn can travel, scale, and belong on an international stage.
