Pinky is the most cared for, loving, and appreciated dog. She was diagnosed with diabetes just over two weeks ago and since then has been facing the severe condition of diabetic keto acidosis (DKA). When Pinky was diagnosed with diabetes the vet said she would wait to give her insulin and to bring Pinky in a few days later. Pinky was diagnosed on a Friday and by Sunday her condition declined rapidly, our once happy dog had become lethargic and struggled to move. This was very unlike her so we rushed her back to the vet which is when they told us her diabetes had developed into a life threatening critical condition. My mom and I have made it our full time jobs to help Pinky and tried to nurse her back to health without spending outrageous amounts of money, unfortunately our efforts failed and pinky resides in overnight care as I'm writing this. The vet would not allow her to be released to us, therefore we are forced to pay money we do not have. We would do anything to keep Pinky here with us and since we had no choice but an expensive procedure we need help. If the bill for Pinky to be nursed back to health is less than we expect I will be donating the money to other charities which help pet owners afford outrageous vet bills. In the meantime, pray for Pinky.
