Pinkerton Family Fire

My name is Angela Schweibinz and this GoFundMe is on behalf of my family members Chloe (age 16) and Cora (age 11) Pinkerton. The Pinkerton Family lost everything in a tragic house fire. Any support is appreciated.

On Saturday early evening, July 29th, a severe set of thunderstorms rolled through Cape May County producing rain, thunder and a lot of lightening. Unfortunately, the longtime Pinkerton residence in Palermo, NJ was struck by lightning and ignited a horrific fire that burned for some time before neighbors noticed the intense flames that gutted the home. The family (Linda Grandmother, Tony Father and his daughters Chloe and Cora) were not in the home when this occurred. The Pinkerton family received that tragic call that their home was engulfed, and no one is ever prepared for those words. They were absolutely devastated and broken hearted to learn that their family pets were lost in the fire. The home was a total loss and all possessions were destroyed.

The goal of this GoFundMe is to get Chloe and Cora well prepared for the upcoming start of the school year and provide beds, bedding and bath linens. Both girls are worried about not having clothes and shoes and all of the things you would expect to start school with. We have reassured them they will be day 1 ready!!!! We are all realizing just how important the little comforts of home provide, something as simple as a hair brush and hair ties.

We want to support the family during this very difficult and traumatic time and try to ease the burden while they are rebuilding their home and lives. We are hoping that our community can come together and support.

On behalf of the family, we would like to send our warmest and most sincere gratitude’s to all of the first responders - local and supporting fire companies, state police, rescue personnel and neighbors for their bravery and dedication for what they do.
