Pini Family Home Barragup House Fire Devastation
Donation protected
Late last week, the Pini Family Home in Barragup WA devastatingly burnt to the ground. Fiona & Michael went out to walk their dogs on the morning of 2 February 2023 returning a little over an hour later to find fire fighters on-site fighting the blaze, but tragically unable to save the home.
Fe & Michael have been left with the clothing they were wearing, their 3 dogs who were thankfully with them at the time, and 8 ducklings who had been residing on the back lawn, who fire fighters went to great lengths to keep safe during the fire - the rest of their beautiful home reduced to little more than ash and charred building rubble despite the amazing efforts of the fire fighters.
The home was a warm and inviting family home, holding the collection & culmination of a lifetime of memories, and all the things they loved that hold those memories and that make a house a home.
Up until 12 December 2022, Fiona’s 96-years-young mum, Joyce, lived with them at their home. The loss of their home, Joyce’s belongings and the lifetime of memories those precious belongings hold is beyond devastating for the family who are already deeply grieving the very recent loss of their much loved and adored Mum & Gran.
It was an anchor, a safe & happy harbour for their three daughters Zoe, Sophie & Phoebe and their respective partners, and frequently visited by their 4 four-legged 'grandchildren', along with close friends, family and neighbours.
With so many people in the community reaching out wanting to know what they can do to help, we have set up this platform to help provide Mick & Fe with a small safety net to immediately help make this heartbreaking, stressful time a little more manageable and bearable, and to get them back on their feet as they re-build their lives from scratch, from jocks & socks up.
There is insurance in place, however with policies dating back to pre-Covid times, it sadly won’t come close to covering the gross cost inflation of all goods across the board that we have all experienced over the past 2 years, and may take months – if not longer - to come through.
We offer a huge & heartfelt thank you for your generosity at this time, and with no donation being too big or small, we hope you can as a community come together and help us reach our fund goal
