Pinetree Art Department Fund

Twenty years ago, the Visual Arts Department at Pinetree Secondary embarked on a program to build something unique among high schools. With an eye toward educating and inspiring students enrolled in art courses and the general school population alike, the Department set out to create a museum of art masterpieces produced entirely by students. In doing so, Pinetree Secondary has become a learning environment unlike any other. Today nearly ninety reproductions of iconic art are displayed in the school's hallways.

In the 2019-2020 school year, the Visual Arts Department will be bringing this two-decades long project to its completion. As it does, students are currently working on a final selection of eight new reproductions, including paintings by Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse, drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, and prints by Rockwell Kent. These pieces are expected to be ready for viewing in the Winter of 2019.

As the Pinetree Secondary Visual Arts Department brings to a conclusion the vision of creating a unique environment of art and culture for our students and the community, we would like to ask you to be a sponsor of this project.  Specifically, the Department is seeking to raise $4000 for the cost of mounting and hanging these eight pieces.  Your contribution will help to ensure that these final works of art will become part of Pinetree Secondary's very special artistic and educational environment for many years to come.

UPDATE: Student artists have now completed seven of the eight new paintings, and those paintings are ready for mounting. Your donation will be key to our being able to realize the goal of completing this project, as these new works of art take their place in Pinetree Secondary's "museum."
