Hi, my name is Kelsey Walker and I am doing a gofundme for an amazing pet hospital who has looked after pineapple for decades. Pineapple is my cat who I got for my 3rd birthday back in 2004. He has been in the family for over 20 years & we are devastated with the news we received a few days ago. He recently got diagnosed with CKD early last year. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is the persistent loss of kidney function over time. Healthy kidneys perform many important functions, most notably filtering the blood and making urine, so problems with kidney function can result in a variety of health problems for a cat. He has stayed strong for over a year but unfortunately he is deteriorating massively especially this last week and it is such a struggle for us to watch him. We took him to the vets a few days ago, They checked him over ect and unfortunately his quality of life is coming to an end. He is not only suffering with CKD but other medical problems such as dental problems. PDSA gave him two needles to help with pain & sickness but this only lasts for 24 hours. We had a long talk with vet professionals and decided the best thing to do was to put him to sleep so he is free from pain that he’s constantly in. We are all absolutely devastated as he has been a massive part of our lives for many years. He has watched me go from a little girl, to growing into the woman I am today and I can’t believe I’m loosing my bestfriend. He has had such an amazing life but unfortunately it’s time to say goodbye He will be put to sleep this Wednesday 22nd May. We only have 3 days to spend as much time with him. He will be getting lots of cuddles/treats ect from us all. As well as his favourite food (cooked chicken, tuna, ham) anything that makes his last days the happiest. We have decided to get him cremated through PDSA who suggested a company who will be dealing with it all. They have been so lovely & helpful in regards to this and everything else they have done for him. His ashes will be returned back to me so he can come home with his family were he belongs. PDSA have been amazing with pineapple as well as my other cat and this is why I have decided to do a gofundme. All donations will be donated to the PDSA. They honestly do not get enough credit for what they do! Every donation matters & we are very grateful for any donation & thank you all so much for reading my little story.
it is going to be so hard for us but we need to think we are doing the right thing as he is suffering badly. He will never be forgotten. We love you so much Pineapple
