Pine Ridge Girls School (PRGS) is a non-profit, privately funded school on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Through rigorous academics and a curriculum deeply rooted in Lakota traditions, the school aims to prepare the young girls for college while empowering them to be proud of their Native culture. Here at PRGS we hope to educate the girls to their fullest potential. In order to do this, it takes lots of supplies and lots of helping hands. Part of the rich cultural education that the students receive here is from guest speakers and experts from the community who donate their time to pass on their traditional knowledge. In the Lakota way it is important to give back to these teachers. This fund will enable us to continue bringing in our community experts and will help us properly give back to them, even on a moments notice. We never want to miss an opportunity for learning and growth. This fund will also help the teachers and staff here provide experiences and materials as needed throughout the year. We hope to start a student incentive program, a music program, sports programs, etc. and continue to fill and equip our classrooms with quality tools to give the girls the very best that we can. As a private school our funding is always a process. The donations that we receive here will provide us with flexible and immediate suppport and will be greatly appreciated by all.
