Donation protected
I'm aiming to raise £4500 by running Africa's most-famous 90km ultramarathon to help fund medication, disposables, PPE, milk formula and nappies for Lambano Sanctuary.
“Children were not designed to die.”
The Cause: Located in Malvern East, a district of Johannesburg, Lambano Sanctuary see if there is anything more they can do to lengthen a sick child’s life. They specialise in providing holistic care to children who suffer with a life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, renal, cardiac, brain damage, burns, muscular dystrophy and respiratory problems, as well as support for their families.
The Aim: I'm aiming to raise £4500 (ZAR 100,000) to help fund:
- Medication
- Medical disposables
- PPE – Gloves, Aprons, Hats and Booties
- Alcohol spray and Hand wash
- Milk Formulas
- Nappies
- Groceries
As a Together For Cinema inspired activity, I will also be installing an upgraded media room at Lambano for the children and families to enjoy.
The Race (on June 9): The Comrades Marathon is the world's largest and oldest ultramarathon of approximately 88 kilometres which is run annually in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg.

Lambano is a non-profit organisation and receives no funding from government. It is totally dependent on sponsorship and donations to cover their operational costs.
