After Stew, a suicidal, unfulfilled office worker, tells his friends he wants to kill himself, they offer no objections and start planning his funeral for him. To ensure the funeral is exactly as he envisions, he decides to have a live suicide on the day of the funeral, turning the ceremony into a grand event that the unfeeling people in Stew’s life could never have imagined. Eventually, recognizing the value in his ambitious nature and seeing the potential to become the person his funeral advertises, he decides to take back control of his life and fakes his death and escape.
In the end, Stew decides to have a new start, with a new passion for who he could be.
Throughout the film, we follow Stew stuck with his same two friends, and his usual narcissistic boss. While planning his funeral, he finds hope in who he could be, escaping his funeral in order to start over.

The Heart Of The Film
Pimp My Funeral is a student short dark comedy film that discusses suicide in surreal manner — by the residents of Simpli City being so accepting of suicide and treating live funerals as a social gathering more than a mourning.
This film makes light of the quarter life crisis. Stew – like a lot of people, is having one in a comedic way, by starting the film with Stew already at his lowest, drinking beers on his apartment rooftop on a weekday afternoon, casually mentioning that he thinks about killing himself. Ultimately, this film delivers a message about hope, that everyone has a passion, and sometimes it just takes planning your own funeral to rediscover what it is.
✧ Meet The Team ✧

Ready, prepared and excited to take on any challenges to come our way!
And this is only part of the crew putting their creativity and heart into this project— their skill, enthusiasm, and commitment will allow us to make this story come to life.
We are filmmakers —it feels a bit weird not to say 'aspiring' anymore—, and we want to keep following the dream of making pertinent and conscious stories while also enjoying the process and coming together to face the hardships that a project like this one entails.
✧ What We Need & What You Get ✧
This is an ambitious project: three different locations, a life-sized statue, a lot of characters, and a lot of shenanigans.*
We want our crew and cast to have the best working environment, and with your contribution, we will not only achieve the logistical and technical challenges of getting our locations and getting the art department budget we will NEED, but also provide the whole crew with ample food (crafty) on set for all three of our production days, especially the days of the funeral when we would have over 20 background actors coming to watch Stew’s big moment.
Along with other logistical expenses needed to facilitate the creatives' jobs.
To show our appreciation and invite you to be part of our journey, please put your name as public and we will give all contributions above $15 a shoutout on our instagram page and all contributions above $100 a special thanks in the credits.
We hope this encourages you to help us make this project the best it can be.
Needless to say, you'll have our endless gratitude.
✧ Risks & Challenges ✧
*The number of settings we'll be able to showcase might end up needing to go down in order to adapt to budget— our crew's well-being and safety always shall come first.
(Which is why we need your help!)
Working within a tight budget, organizing the crew's and volunteers' schedules and upholding high production standards for this ambitious film are some of the challenges we'll be facing. We plan on filming in six different sets, but with your help, we hope to be able to film in only 3 separate locations to make it easier on the crew. With your help, we will be able to secure a church that would be able to accommodate our crew along with the number of background actors we intend to have, as well as having a large office that we could cover with a lot of secrets.
But fear not! We've come prepared. With a detailed Production Plan under our sleeve, where we prioritize essential costs and get creative on the hows, and make the most out of our schedule... With well-thought-out budgeting and the appropriate contingency plans, we are careful and confident that our vision for this film can be achieved.
✧ Other Ways You Can Help! ✧
Follow us on our Social Media! Every like, comment, and shared post not only helps us get to a broader audience and builds a bigger community... It also encourages our Team to see people interested.
And while we know that making this film is a challenge, we are prepared to make it happen (for you too), it's encouraging to know people are supporting!
