Pim Wong's Medical Fund

Pim is an immigrant from Thailand. Her son Kenny is a patient of mine who suffers from multiple medical problems. Kenny was born in the US and he has medical coverage, but his parents are immigrants, who came to this country as refugees, but could not renew their visa. Pim was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 months ago, and has been getting medical care at Stroger Cook County Hospital. She has to travel almost daily from Aurora to Chicago to get medical care. She also has to take care of her son in the meantime. She has no steady income to depend on. She cannot afford to pay for her pain medication either. I've known Pim for 10 years, and I see she is a dedicated mother, who is sacrificing her own health to take care of her son.
