Hi all,
As many of you know, I work in Northeast Philly as a dietitian, at a children's hospital. I'm really excited to start a new project, but need some help! This campaign is to appeal to my friends and is not tied to the hospital.
I'm piloting a new group cooking class for children and their families. I'll be running a series each week and each participant can come once a month. Each month will have a topic (increasing fruits and vegetables, meal planning, healthy snacks, physical activity, etc.) and a new recipe (inexpensive, as seasonal as possible and easy to make).
Where your money will go:
1. Materials like bowls, forks, tablecloths, napkins, cleaning supplies, plates and cups.
2. Food for the recipes (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and water)
3. Small giveaways for our families (measuring cups and measuring spoons)- things that will help them live healthier lives.
4. Nutrition education materials (food models, handouts, visuals) to aid with learning
Money will be cashed out and used for the weekly classes for the above series. I will be responsible for tracking the budget and purchases made for the classes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even $5 could be enough for a small taste test!
With love,
Nyssa
