"Brasilian Pilgrims Help Tibetan Refugee Community in Nepal"

In Kathmandu, Nepal there is the oldest and poorest Tibetan refugee community in exile from Tibet. Since 1997, through the auspices of the non-profit organization Tara Dhatu, we have been supporting Atisha Primary School that serves the children of the community. Atisha offers an excellent all round education even though the circumstances are extremely challenging. The teachers are on a minimum salary and most parents can barely afford the small school fees. Please visit our web site: brightnepal.net to read more. Our help is transforming the lives of this community.Ten Brasilian friends are fundraising to join a delegation that is returning to Kathmandu in April 2025 to continue this humanitarian work. Ten years ago, in 2014, a team from Brasil participated in a similar project and some of the same pilgrims are participating again in April 2025. Leading this team of Brasilians is Patricia Tolentino from São Paulo. She has gathered a group of ten participants who are earnestly raising the funds to make this journey. Due to the low rate of the Brasilian Real against the US$ this is a gigantic task and I, Anahata, promised to set up a GoFundMe to help to accomplish this task. You will see Patricia in this video speaking on behalf of her team. The Brasilian delegates will meet up with other nationalities in Kathmandu, to make an international team. At this point of time almost half of the children at Atisha have a sponsor and one of the goals is to recruit more sponsors for the remaining children. Once in Kathmandu we will spend time in Atisha offering a cultural exchange with the teachers and children sharing Dances of Universal Peace and Brasilian folkloric dances. In a separate fundraising I raised the funds to sponsor culture costumes from three regions in Tibet and the funds for teachers to come to the school to teach the children the music and dances. The children will be ready to perform for us in April when we come. This is the nature of the ongoing fundraising for Atisha to give dignity to the staff and children as they make a valiant attempt to preserve their cultural heritage. The guidance of H. H. Dalai Lama has been like a shining light for the Tibetans who are inspired by his leadership in exile to take pride not just in the religious side of Buddhism but in every aspect of daily life in Tibet. Although the Tibetans have refuge in places like India and Nepal, they have no real status or passport. Their goal is to one day return to land of the snows, Tibet. This is a large reason for our pilgrimage to show our respect and support for the Tibetan cause. Please, if you are able to, support our Brasilian delegation in raising the funds for their journey. In this interconnected world every action of generosity touches all things. We, as a delegation, will carry your prayers and the prayers of your family and community with us at every pilgrimage stop. 100% of all funds donated will go to the Brasilian delegation . H. H. Dalai often proclaims "My Religion is Kindness". So in advance, I thank you for your kindness. Eh Ma Ho! Immeasurably Wonderful.
