Hello, I am raising money to support my pilgrimage to Tibet, which includes circumambulating around Mt Kailash, a very sacred mountain in Western Tibet. Pilgrimage is a connecting and blending with the sacredness of holy places, and in this process, "realize our own sacredness and that of everything. It’s also true that the benefits of pilgrimage undertaken are not only personal— they carry universal benefit for all beings".
For many years I have considered the possibility and this year, it seems it is the time to do it. The groups guides have done this for many years, and around Mt Kailash there will be horses if one wishes to ride part way and oxygen if needed; the preparartion is excellent. In order to help me to actualize this goal, which embraces a means to enhance my practice and study, and to become a better person, I am running a fundraiser.
I am in awe of this possibility. Money that is raised will be used directly to pay for the expenses of the trip, including international air travel. I will also make offerings at the various monasteries and sacred sites in the names of those who have contributed, and in the names of all. Offerings at sacred sites have much power to help.
Tibet, it's people and culture are central to my life, and to actually be there, I believe from the core of my heart, will be an inexpressibly positive impact on my life and the wish to benefit others. The trip takes place between June 30 and July 24. I am so grateful for this possibility.
