Pigs and Poultry for Peace
Pigs and Poultry Farms for Conflict Victims in Cameroon
Helping people lift themselves from conflict with sustainable farming!
Skip your eggs and bacon this morning and donate those dollars to help buy a pig or a chick for the people of Tobin, Kumbo Cameroon!
The Kumbo Development and Orientation Center (KUDOC), intends through this proposal and through your kind assistance to help in reconciling and rehabilitating the community people who originated within the precincts of the Bui County and who were direct victims of the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon, through sustainable farming.
Read more on our website about who we are and about the current conflict in Cameroon.
How we handle donations:
Funds raised on GoFundMe are withdrawn personally by USA Project Support volunteer Andy McConnell and wired to KUDOC in Kumbo care of Project Officer Tanga Eric Dindze. Separate funds to cover all transfer fees and currency exchange costs have already been pledged, so every dollar you donate will go directly to supporting this project!
We intend to:
1. Establish a Community Pig Farm which will be run by men.
Budget for Pig Farm: $8,000 US Dollars
2. Establish a Community Poultry Farm which will be run by women.
Budget for Poultry Farm: $4,000 US Dollars
Please see the detailed budget on our website for complete costs breakdown.
Objectives of the Project:
• To promote social interaction in the aftermath of conflict-related trauma experiences among men and women in the Bui Community.
• To create a sense of awareness of sustainable livestock production.
• To work with poor rural women and men to improve the health, economic stability of families and community relationships of participants.
• Increase protein production and consumption in an area with very low access to food.
Pigs and Poultry for Peace is a project of the Kumbo Development and Orientation Center (KUDOC), which seeks to uplift people through education and development. They also implement many projects, such as prison improvements, clean water projects, and shelter and resources for orphans.
