Hi there :)
I am Jenny, Anne's little sister.
As most of you already know, less than a week ago Anne flew into Minneapolis to host a baby shower for her oldest and dearest friend. I on the other hand got her all to myself the Friday before said baby shower. We had a whole day of fun and errands planned - lots of sister time!! After breakfast the morning of Friday, December 4th Anne began acting out of sorts and showing signs of confusion. Being as close as we are, I noticed something was "off" right away. Taking the advice of my mother (and long time nurse) we headed down to Rochester to the Mayo Clinic ER. Once Anne got through some testing and a lot of waiting, we received the news none of us expected to hear - that bit of "confusion" she was having earlier in the day was a seizure and Anne has a brain tumor. I repeat... ANNE HAS A BRAIN TUMOR!!! What?!
I am writing this from Las Vegas where Anne and her beautiful family live. I am here to get them packed up and on a plane to Minnesota to be reunited with her. I cannot start to describe how much she misses them (and they her!!) and how much of a difference it will make to have ALL her boys with her.
If you know Anne, you know she would kill me if she knew I was doing this. She is the most generous, kind, loving person you'll ever meet in your life. She would give you her last dollar if you needed it - truly the epitome of selflessness. This is why we have little sisters right?! To do the things big sisters are too busy saving the world to find time to do.
What makes this whole nightmare bearable has been the outpouring of kindness; the amount of love and support that everyone has shown to Anne and all of us is astonishing! People continue to ask what they can do to help. Therefore, I decided to create this opportunity to support Anne and her family since they would never ask for help themselves.
While Anne is in Minnesota on this journey, her husband will need to fly back and forth from Vegas to be at work (where's my cloning machine now!) and with your help we can ease at least some of the stress of ALL of this.
Thank you for your ongoing support, love, and generosity during this time. Anne, Ryan, Matty, and Mikey feel so blessed to have such an amazing support structure of family, friends, teachers, and colleagues around them. Anne has a long road ahead of her, but all your support and love is what keeps her moving forward every day!!
Forever and endlessly grateful xo
