FAME's mission is to help other programs and events that celebrate and grow the minds of the developmentally disabled. Right now FAME is fundraising for a small school called the Program for Intellectual Empowerment (PIE). The Program for Intellectual
Empowerment has been operating for 3 years. During that time they were fortunate enough to rent out a space from a local church. But as
the school has grown, so have the students. Unfortunately we are outgrowing our space and it is time for the church to claim back some of their space.

Why is it important for us to have our own space?

While sharing a space is wonderful for our cost, one of the challenges PIE faces is understanding and compassion toward the population of students they work with.  As PIE's students are not typical and many of them have been displaced from the district due to behaviors and
other factors, it makes it hard to use a rented space long term. Because of this, many times the students may exhibit some behaviors that
aren't "typical." This often time gets looked down upon and judged. Every person is entitled to their own opinions and ideals, but for PIE,
their mission is to celebrate and lift up each student to be a better version of themselves. This also means taking any behaviors they have
and channeling it to a more functional behavior that helps them and others This has been a small school that focuses on whole brain learning. Which uses the cognitive psych lens, behavior and language.

And while others aren't required to be as understanding and kind toward people with developmental disabilities, PIEs missions is to show
the world that it is not hard to be understanding and kind, just look at the person as a whole and not what they do.

Your donation will secure a better space and school for us. We are searching for a space with at least 2 extra classrooms to add a new class as well as get us into our own space. A space we can customize and where the students are allowed to be who they are without being judged. At this time rental spaces for commercial or education proposes is hard to come by with spaces costing upwards of $14-$18 a sqft. And we are seeking a space that is at least 1000 sqft to fit our needs. This will allow us to continue to accept new students from our wait list as well as allow us the freedom to continue to grow the students. A few of the students have launched their own business and having a space to show case their retail items is something PIE desperately needs.

We are able to pay for half of the space with our own tuition, but need more in order to get a space that fits our needs.

We need the funds right away as we are currently losing our space right now. And the funds will go directly to rent of a new place,

12000 will go toward rent for a year least 1000 for each month.

3000 will used to buy furniture and storage for the new place.
