Pierre Alarie
Donation protected
On Monday, January 15th, 2024 at the age of 64, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer, Pierre passed away, as were his wishes, at home.
He joins his parents Roger and Rita (née Gauthier) and his brother Gérard. Pierre was a beloved and devoted father to Joel (Jessica), Nicolas (Gabrielle), Maxime (Catherine) and Cara. He was a loving partner to Laurie (Dakota, Michaela), a wonderful brother to Jeannine, Richard (Joanne) and Denise (Mark), a caring godfather to Richard (Heather) and a good friend to many.
He enjoyed working at the National Research Council for 24 years. Pierre lived a life full of adventures and always put 110% in everything he did. He travelled to many places but France had a special place in his heart. He had many interests and was proficient and skilled in gardening, computers, photography, military history, politics, art… He loved cooking and creating new gourmet dishes like “escargot pizza”. He also loved and played many sports and was a very talented goaltender. He was a “Mr Fix-It” – whether it was a computer, screen door, washing machine, tap, car… - he always found a way to fix-it.
Most of all, Pierre loved spending quality time with his children, family and friends. He had a heart of gold and helped so many people throughout his life. This was reflected in the amount of friends that stood by him and encouraged him throughout his illness.
Special thanks to Pete’s friends, to the staff at the Ottawa General Hospital and Dr André Gauthier and Lorraine Gauthier for the good care they provided.
A service will be held on January 27, 2024 at Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Nepean, ON K2H 8H7 from 12:00pm - 4:00pm.
Donations will be collected for a commemorative tree at the Beechwood cemetery. If we exceed our goal, the remainder will be donated to the Cancer Research Institute at the Ottawa Hospital.
