Our English bulldog, Pierogi, is one of three dogs in our family, the youngest at 4 years old. She is the sweetest, goofiest personality of them all and literally looks like the Polish dumpling she’s happily named after. She acts as my shadow, following me everywhere and tripping lovingly under my feet as I walk. That dog has literally stolen our hearts, adding such a ray of light to our household.
Recently during one of her normal “zoomies” sessions where she excitedly runs inside from having gone to the bathroom, we could hear an audible popping noise as she moves. After limping off and on, weeks of different medications and X-rays, it was recommended she see an orthopedic veterinarian. To our dismay, she has two ruptured cranial cruciate ligaments, one in each back leg, and has to undergo not one, but two surgeries this month. The cost is incredibly expensive, between $6100-6800 per leg. To make matters worse, my spouse was laid off at the start of the pandemic, at which time we canceled our pet insurance in order to cut back on expenses.
Needless to say, Pierogi’s surgeries will cost $12,200 or more. Any help, however difficult for us to ask of others, would be incredibly useful to pay for her veterinarian care. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any contribution.
