Pierina “THE BOMB” Porretta, our beloved daughter, endearing granddaughter, supportive sister, committed fiancé, coolest aunt, classy cousin, nurturing niece, fabulous friend, trusting neighbor, the best nail tech ever, MPB/VCHS Alum is continuing her battle against Breast Cancer. This Cancer is no match for the spirit and fight that she has in her!! Pierina, is a forced to be reckoned with!! We, her family, friends, neighbors, clients, and MPB/VCHS alumni throughout the Walden community and admirers from afar are all here in supporting her fight to beat this!
Initially diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer in May 2012, after a double mastectomy, a hysterectomy and a brief remission, the Cancer returned spreading to her bones and liver in early 2014. With the strength of more than most can endure, she continued working through preventative treatments during 2014.
After routine tests showed additional spots in her liver this past November, she began a more rigorous round of chemotherapy to combat this damn Cancer. Pierina was admitted to the hospital at Christmas time to regain her strength and treat the gut wrenching pain she was experiencing. In good spirits, never complaining but a little bitchy from time to time LoL, she is currently undergoing her 4th chemotherapy treatment with only positive energy welcomed.
Not having the energy to get back to work where she loves what she does filling the Hair Café with her contagious, hearty laughter stemming from her well kept toes, designing nails with a creative flare is worse than any pain thrown in her direction. Her radiant smile will NOT BE BEAT!
Where we all know she’d be the first in line to do anything to help any one of us, let’s unify in lending our support to Pie! Every donation will help bring her “peace of mind,” relieving some of the financial burden that is upon her due to the escalating costs of her medical treatment.
