THE STORY OF PIERCE ARNELL

With permission from my brother, Derek Arnell, father of Pierce Arnell, I want to share a story that needs to be told about my nephew, Pierce Arnell.

Pierce was just 3 years old when he was attacked by a dog (not Derek's dog) on May 28, 2014. The plastic surgeon repaired muscle and nerve damage, but some permanent damage was done to his mouth. This operation took hundreds of stitches inside and out to pull the wounds together, and the doctor said "only time will tell" about his outcome. It has been a tremendously trying time for Pierce as strangers and children stare at him and ask his parents and grandparents "what happened to his face"? His life and his parent’s lives have been changed forever from this unfortunate incident. This was an occurrence that could have and should have been prevented.

Pierce's insurance will be insufficient (cosmetic) for future medical expenses. Derek is a proud and very private person, but I pleaded with him to let me talk about this event. I am starting a charity fund for Pierce to be used for future surgeries and medical expenses.

Pierce is a delightful little boy who loves to golf, and has a passion for the prehistoric dinosaurs that once roamed the planet. Pierce has the best qualities of his mother and father, is curious, adventurous and intelligent. His best friend's are his grandpa and grandma who spend countless hours reading and learning to play golf together.

Pierce has endured the pain with more courage than could be imagined. This is one of the most difficult tasks I have ever had to do, but I am asking everyone – friends, childhood, high school and college – co-workers, and associates from every walk of life – to please donate any amount of money to help Pierce Arnell. I am asking that everyone "share" this page on your face book, or any social network to reach as many people as possible.

I don’t feel like I can sit on the sideline any longer. I have to do everything in my power to help my Brother’s son. Imagine having this happen to your only child. Imagine the pain, grief, sorrow, guilt, anxiety and financial worries that my brother is facing every day.

This event has changed so many lives, but for Pierce I am pleading with friends and family to donate whatever amount of money you can to assist Pierce in future cosmetic surgeries not covered by Derek's insurance.

The greatest favor you could do for me is simple, - "share" this posting to your website so we might be able to reach as many people as possible.

I am a dog owner and I love my dog, but preventing this type of incident has become an issue I will champion for the rest of my life.
I appreciate any support and thank you.
