Piece of the Pi - 3rd Annual Pi Day Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Ainsley Ramsey and I am the founder of the Piece of the Pi fundraiser. I started Piece of the Pi to connect a purpose with my annual personal tradition of reciting the digits of pi (3.14…), adding 100 digits each year to my previous year’s record. I am so honored to host this fundraiser for a third year, this year with the help of seven outstanding female leaders (Lily Gabric, Tori Stratton, Sofia Blavatsky, Lea Petit, Hayley Osterkorn, Emily Stabilito, and Katelyn Tse) and our three High School Ambassadors (Peyton Bryant, Scout Drew, and Noel Steinbeck).

Each year, the Piece of the Pi fundraiser runs for roughly three weeks and concludes on Pi Day, or March 14th (03/14). As an organization, we strive to advance Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education accessibility in our home state of Arizona by raising funds for underserved and/or underrepresented groups in the STEM field. We accomplish this by partnering each year with Arizona Science Center (ASC).

Piece of the Pi raised $8,440 for ASC’s School Science Pass Initiative in 2022 and $3,400 for ASC’s CONNECT Scholarship Fund in 2021. Piece of the Pi’s 2023 fundraiser will benefit ASC’s STEM Discovery Initiative, and our fundraising goal is $10,000. In addition to directly donating via GoFundMe, you may also support our cause by purchasing merchandise on our website.

In alignment with Piece of the Pi's goal of advancing STEM education accessibility, ASC's STEM Discovery Initiative supports a number of STEM education programs at ASC, including the Girls in STEM, Science on Wheels, Fund-A-Bus, Focused Field Trips, Teen Engagement Initiative, Science on Wheels, CAMP INNOVATION, and Science Teacher Residency (StaR) programs. More information about these programs can be found on ASC's website.

Our 2023 fundraiser will be active from February 22nd, 2023 until March 14th, 2023. Concurrently with our fundraising efforts, our team will be highlighting the experiences of leading women in the STEM field within our community through testimonials and video interviews on our social media platforms.

Our team is so proud of our commitment and hard work towards this initiative, and we are driven to provide the opportunity for Arizona children to discover and deepen their passions for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We are grateful for those in our community who support our organization and look forward to all that we accomplish in 2023!
