The Pidgeon Estates Tree Initiative organizes an annual planting day each January, offering large-caliper trees to neighbors at a discounted price. Every tree is delivered and professionally planted by Woodland Tree. Since 2021, we’ve proudly added 67 new trees to our neighborhood: 20 maples, 20 tulip poplars, and 27 oaks.
While this is an important start, it’s not enough to offset the significant tree loss our neighborhood has already faced and will continue to face in the years ahead.
The market cost of having Woodland Tree plant a 10-12' oak, tulip poplar, or maple is $500. In order to offer these professionally planted trees to the neighborhood at the extremely discounted price of $175 per tree, we need to raise $4,875 to be able to reach our goal of 15 trees for the 2026 Planting Day in January.
To be clear, the $4,875 allows us to reduce the price of 15 trees from $500 to $175 each; participants will pay $175 to Woodland Tree directly before the planting day.
While we’ve been fortunate to have business sponsors in the past — and welcome any new sponsorships you can help us connect with — the success of this effort depends on the generosity of neighbors like you. Without a neighborhood association to fund this work, it’s up to all of us to step in. Together, we can keep Pidgeon Estates beautiful and green, but it takes each one of us to make it happen.
We've been lucky enough to secure $3,175 so far, which means that we have $1,700 left to raise.
The deadline for donations is September 30th so we know how many trees we can offer before distributing the planting day flyer in October.
Please donate today! Thank you!"
